Fans of the video game and manga may be disappointed that one character, Francine Allumage, doesn't appear in the show. The alternate history aspect gives an insightful look at it with the advanced technology featured. The lines of dialogue is well-written for the English dub.Comical, wacky moments, including the running gag about the nickname for Ruriko and the Marilyn Maneuver moments with Baruko Ogawa (however, there is a surprise twist concerning the latter). The action-packed scenes or sequences provide plenty of excitement.Terrific voice acting in the English dub.Several characters have backstories that are well-explained.The characters and heroes are outstanding, lovable, and memorable, some even undergoing some development in the process.Smart writing that is of the utmost quality.Sharp art and the animation isn't much to have qualms about either. It's original enough by putting a new spin on the stop-world-domination-plot.Interestingly enough, the setting of the late 1960s/early '70s is around the time that mecha anime in general began, making for quite the coincidence.Tategami High is used as a front for A.E.G.I.S., which is located underground and this is very beneficial to the students as it allows them to arrive there right away when needed. That is the only method to get rid of them. Each of them has a special power that allows them to open a supernatural, dimensional portal that is used to capture the Invaders. A special group of high schoolers who attend Tategami High School are recruited and members of A.E.G.I.S.
